Sidenotes: After a rather strange dream, Sora wakes up to find Kairi staring down at him. She then sends him off on various scavenger hunts in preparation for an attempt to get the hell off of the island they've been living on for the last eternity and a half. During the night, a really bad storm breaks over the island, and with it come some strange creatures... and a new weapon to fight them with! Then Sora's world is swallowed up by the darkness, and Sora ends up stranded in a town he's never seen before. There, he meets several people and begins his epic journey as the Keyblade Master. During the events of Kingdom Hearts, Sora finds his two missing friends, Kairi and Riku, but Riku decides to lock himself behind the Door to Darkness with King Mickey. Meanwhile, their island home is restored, but Sora makes a promise to Kairi that he won't return to the island until he finds Riku. He, Donald, and Goofy resume their journey to find Riku and King Mickey, but are sidetracked when a mysterious hooded figure leads them to an equally-mysterious castle with the promise of answers...
