Sidenotes: After a really bad storm hit his island home, Sora received the Keyblade, but his friends were scattered when his world was destroyed. Sora then began his search for Riku and Kairi, and, after meeting Donald and Goofy, he included King Mickey in his search. At the end of Kingdom Hearts, Sora and Riku were reunited, but Riku and King Mickey locked themselves behind the Door to Darkness. Kairi was also found along the way, but in the end Sora left her behind on their newly-restored home, promising to return one day after finding Riku (again). So he started on his journey anew, but was sidetracked by a mysterious hooded figure, who led him to an equally-mysterious castle, where "to learn the truth, he must forget" (Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories). After reaching the top floor of the castle, he was put into a machine of sorts so he could regain his lost memories (with every floor he reached, Sora forgot more and more). This story begins with Sora awakening in the machine and resuming his quest with Donald and Goofy. He eventually gains new powers in the form of, uh, forms. They are pictured on the right.
