He then sent Vexen to spy on Marluxia by pretending to want to help Marluxia. When Marluxia discovered Vexen reporting his movements to Zexion, he sent Vexen to eliminate Sora, and sent Axel to eliminate Vexen. Obviously, the latter was successful, and not the former, otherwise we wouldn't be here right now. Vexen is the creator of the Riku replica that later killed Zexion off.
