Recruitment | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Find him hiding in the cannon room onboard the haunted S.S. Invincible. Chase him around while being attacked by wraiths, and he'll join after awhile. Interesting side-note: His name in Japanese (Tumalu) comes from the verb tsumaru (to clog), i.e., he's a curious animal that likes climbing into small, tight spaces. One must wonder why he isn't hiding inside one of the cannons in the artillery room, then. It'd make him harder to find, a not-so-easy to recruit character, and would make more sense. Ah well. At least he climbs into a cannon in one of his Lv. 7 techs... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Evolutions | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
What makes Pip unique is that he can evolve (all of his evolutions are pictured above and below). His evolutions depend on elements cast during battle.
The game keeps tabs on what elements are cast by both your party and the game's AI. Here's the breakdown for Pip's evolutions and their orders, and how
to go about getting them:
If you keep Pip constantly in your party from the time he joins onboard the S.S. Invincible, then his first evolution should take place at some point inside Another World's Fort Dragonia, the earliest recorded time being while fighting the Cybots in the red crystal section. If you took him out for some boss battles, then he will probably evolve during the Bunyip fight in Fort Dragonia (black crystal section). The easiest form to get is Angel Pip, if you leave him in for the Dwarves vs. Fairies section (where you're using a lot of green elements) and Mount Pyre (where you're using a lot of blue elements). Pip's initial innate colour is white, but after he evolves, his innate changes to whatever colour elements you've been using the most. Also, after Pip evolves the first time, the game gets rid of the old numbers and starts a new, clean count of what colour elements you're using. Also, his third-form evolutions will have to wait for until you get him back after the second time through Fort Dragonia.
