Sidenotes: In Final Fantasy X, Auron was Tidus' mentor, and is pretty much dead (unsent) throughout the whole game. At the end of FFX, he is finally laid to rest, hence Hades being able to summon him up (Hades is the King of the Underworld. Unlike in Christianity, there is no good and bad afterlife. In Greek mythology, all people go to the Underworld, whether they were good or evil (there are separate areas in the Underworld for good and bad people, but it's still all in the Underworld, and therefore Hades can do whatever he wants with them. For more info on the Underworld of Greek mythology, see this article, or Elysium for the "heaven" area and Tartarus for the "hell" area)). Since Tidus is a kid in the KH world, it's not quite sure how that affects Auron's backstory in the KH world.

Recruitment: When you confront Hades, he summons up Auron, who refuses to make a deal with him. You and Auron pretty much join forces due to convenience and a shared hatred/fear of Hades. He pulls a disappearing act after escaping the Underworld.
